Round grey and silver frames in a 49mm lens width, introduced in Montblanc’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection as part of the Blue & Beyond concept. These are part of the Montblanc Urban family; specially constructed, ultra-light designs for the modern traveller searching for contemporary expression and “the next.” An ultra-light, transparent grey crystal front and temple tips characterise this cool pantos frame shape. A delicate cylindrical metal hinge and temple is accentuated by the iconic floating snow cap logo on each temple, and a further anti-slip exploded snow cap lasered on the internal side of the temple tips. The classic and discreet Mont Blanc lettering logo can be found laser-engraved on the upper left lens.
Montblanc Blue & Beyond glasses combine both a photochromic lens and a blue light coating to create an unrivalled visual experience.
Photochromic is a type of optical lens which darkens on exposure to light changing. In a normal to dark, or indoor environment your lenses will remain clear with a very light transparent blue tint; when worn outside, as your surroundings get brighter your lenses will darken to a deep blue as they’re activated by the sun’s ultraviolet radiation.
The blue light coating on your lenses will protect your eye from the blue light that passes through the cornea and lens and reaches the retina, which is believed to affect the light-sensitive cells in the retina; this can cause poor sleep quality, migraines and eye strain. Sunlight is the number one source of blue light making these glasses the perfect on-the-go design.
Montblanc are most commonly recognised as a prestige watchmaker and manufacturer of luxury writing instruments. In 1952, a Hamburg banker, Alfred Nehemias, and a Berlin engineer, August Eberstein, together recognised the signs of the time and decided to produce high-quality pens. After a short period Wilhelm Dziambor, Christian Lausen, and later Claude Johannes Voss took over the business and together paved the way for the future of Montblanc. Over the last 100 years, Montblanc has stood for ingenious design, top quality and traditional craftmanship. Montblanc eyewear shares this same uncompromising quality on shape, style, materials and workmanship of each frame. In the same way that ingenuity and imagination helped the fountain pen to make its technical and commercial breakthrough as a writing instrument, Montblanc eyewear adds an elegant and exclusive touch to your wardrobe. With exceptional quality at the forefront of their design, Montblanc crafts functional yet sophisticated opticals with super light construction, and a discernible Montblanc lettering or iconic snow cap logo embellishing each design.
